Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume today announced a partnership with STOP THE TRAFFIK, a global non-profit organisation focused on preventing human trafficking and modern slavery through intelligence-led action and cross-sector collaboration to disrupt crypto-funded exploitation as the first crypto company to partner with STOP THE TRAFFIK.
Binance’s partnership with STOP THE TRAFFIK reflects its broader commitment to combating illicit activity globally, protecting users and strengthening the integrity of the wider crypto industry. As part of its efforts, tackling human trafficking and related exploitation remains a critical priority for the company. Through this collaboration, Binance will gain access to specialised intelligence resources, expert insights and targeted training to help proactively identify, investigate and disrupt illicit activity linked to human trafficking.
The partnership is aimed at supporting stronger internal awareness, enhancing detection of emerging typologies, and contributing to Binance’s wider compliance, investigations and public-private collaboration efforts worldwide, helping to raise standards and build greater trust across the overall crypto ecosystem. STOP THE TRAFFIK brings deep expertise in human trafficking and modern slavery prevention. A core aspect of their work involves collaborations with financial institutions, technology companies, NGOs and law enforcement stakeholders across the public, private, and non-profit sectors to improve intelligence sharing and strengthen collective responses to exploitation.
“Financial crime prevention must continue to evolve to address the real-world harms that intersect with illicit finance, including human trafficking and related exploitation,” said Noah Perlman, Chief Compliance Officer of Binance. “Our partnership with STOP THE TRAFFIK will help strengthen our understanding of these threats and enhance our ability to contribute meaningfully to efforts that protect vulnerable communities. Collaboration across sectors is essential to identifying and disrupting these abuses, which is a pressing issue globally.”
Over 49.6 million people are living in situations of modern slavery, which is likely to be much higher. According to the latest NASDAQ 2026 Global Financial Crime Report, human trafficking generated an estimated $528.5 billion in illicit proceeds in 2025, rising with a growth rate of 23.5% between 2023 and 2025.
“Human traffickers use a cynical business model to exploit their fellow human beings”, said Nick Dale, STOP THE TRAFFIK’s Director of Intelligence and Prevention. “This business model depends on financial systems to launder their money so they can enjoy their ill-gotten gains. We know that traffickers are increasingly using cryptocurrency to try and stay one step ahead of investigators, which is why this partnership with Binance is so important. We should never forget that behind every piece of intelligence we provide, there is a unique story of harm, of hopes and dreams destroyed. By providing this intelligence, we can help target traffickers’ finances, disrupt their operations, and reduce the harm they inflict on millions of individuals globally.”
The collaboration will also include intelligence-sharing, training opportunities, and engagement on emerging risk indicators and typologies. Working with specialist partners such as STOP THE TRAFFIK further strengthen Binance’s compliance capabilities and reinforce its commitment to responsible industry practices.
This partnership is an extension of Binance’s broader efforts to work with expert organisations, law enforcement, regulators and industry stakeholders to combat financial crime. In 2025,Binance assisted law enforcement in the take down of the largest child exploitation platform, Kidflix. Globally, Binance has supported authorities across more than 313,000 law enforcement requests all-time, and funds recovered or frozen by law enforcement partners with Binance’s support have surpassed $1 billion.
